Trip spirit: This trip is designed for travelers who do not have much time and want to discover the essence of Cambodia. The trip is built around the cultural sites classified as World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, Angkor Wat and the Tonle Sap Lake.
Day 1: Phnom Penh – Battambang (L) Depart from your hotel for Battambang by road (290 km, around 5 hour drive). En route visit ceramic and silversmith villages and enjoy typical Cambodian countryside. Upon arrival in Battambang, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, stroll around the Old Colonial Quarter of Cambodia's 2nd largest city after Phnom Penh. Overnight in Battambang.
Day 2 : Battampang sightseeing (B,L) After breakfast, depart by road to the surrounding area to visit Wat Slaket, the residence of the Venerable Patriarch of the Province and Wat Ek Phnom. In the afternoon visit the Museum, the local markets and Phnom Banon with its five sandstone towers. Return to Battambang in the late afternoon. Overnight in Battambang. Option:In the evening, enjoy the circus show from "Phare Ponleu Selpak" circus and music school. This show highlight traditional and modern Cambodian culture.
Day 3 : Battampang – Siem Reap (B,L) After breakfast, drive 120 km towards the Northwestern province of Banteay Meanchey to visit the ancient temple of Banteay Chhmar, meaning “Narrow Fortress”, dating from the late 12th to the early 13th century. It is thought to have been built by Jayarvarman II and was later rebuilt by Jayarvarman VII as a funerary temple for his sons and four generals who had been killed in a battle repelling a Cham invasion in 1177. In the afternoon, take a tour around the village to discover the daily life of Khmer people, a chance to see the beautiful rice paddies before continuing the road to Siem Reap. Stop on the way to visit Banteay Top, another wonderful and remote ancient temple and then close to Siem Reap, you will reach the village of Puok, home to the Artisans d’Angkor Silk Farm established to revive Cambodia's beautiful silk production. Discover every step of the production. Arrive Siem Reap in the late afternoon. Overnight in Siem Reap. Option: Boat cruise from Battambang to Siem Reap during the high water level season. Note: From March to June / July, the water level may be too low to navigate and therefore this tour may not be operated.
Day 4 : Siem Reap sightseeing (B,L,D) After breakfast, cruise downstream the Sangker River on a traditional wooden riverboat (6-7 hours depending on the water level) towards Siem Reap. Discover the floating villages where traditional fishing methods are still practiced and the Prek Toal Biosphere Reserve, a migratory bird sanctuary, before crossing the Tonle Sap Lake towards the fishing village of Chong Kneas. Take a picnic lunch on board. Upon arrival in Chong Kneas, transfer to Siem Reap and check-in to your hotel. End of our services,
