Day 01: Hanoi Arrival
Welcome to Vietnam? In Hanoi, after immigration and customs formalities, you’ll be met by your personal Guide and driver, then transfer into the city. After lunch at a local restaurant, your guide will take you on a tour of the city’s Old Quarter aboard bicycle rickshaws called cyclos (1hr). You will be pedaled amongst the quaint French buildings along shoe Street, Silk Street and Banner Street (to name just a few)

Day 02: Hanoi City Tour (B)
After breakfast, depart for a full day tour of Hanoi including Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (if open) and simple stilted house, the Confucian Temple of Literature, site of the first university in Vietnam, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Quan Thanh Temple and lovely Tran Quoc Pagoda. In the afternoon, visit the Ethnology museum and ending at historic Hoan Kiem Lake, the social center of Hanoi. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a Water Puppet Show

Day 03: Hanoi - Ba Be (B,L,D)
Depart from Hanoi to Bac Kan province (260km). In this area the Ba Be National Park is situated, boasting more than 20,000 hectares of valleys, waterfalls, caves, unusual rock formations and lakes. The area is predominantly home to the Tay tribe. Arrive at the lake in the afternoon, just in time for a boat cruise to the beautiful Dau Dang Waterfall and to the boatmen’ home village. The village is located right on the edge of Ba Be Lake with a panoramic view of the surrounding cornfields, lake and mountain ranges.

Day 04: Ba Be - Pac Po Cave - Cao Bang (B,L,D)
We leave Ba Be by a fantastic mountainous road, leading us along spectacular limestone formations and densely forested hills. We pass the frontier region of China to pay a visit to the Pac Po Grotto, Ho Chi Minh's former base during the 1941s. Here you will have the chance to learn more about this all-time Vietnamese hero and his long struggle for liberation against the colonial forces

Day 05: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Cao Bang (B,L,D)
Further north lays Cao Bang province, a remote area right on the border with neighboring China. Cao Bang is sparsely populated with a few ethnic communities, hardly affected by today’s modern life. Cao Bang is famous for its graceful mountains, grottos and streams. This day, we take you to the most beautiful waterfall of Vietnam, the Ban Gioc waterfall via Ma Phuc Pass and Trung Khanh area. After the magical visit of Ban Gioc & of Quay Son River, we return to Cao Bang

Day 06: Cao Bang - Lang Son (B,L,D)
Today we travel back in time, back to Indochina, by driving the famous Colonial Road No. 4. We pass areas like Dong Khe and That Khe. The places are well-known for their countless bloody fights between Viet Minh and French forces during the 1950s. In the late afternoon we arrive in Lang Son to visit the central market, the gateway of trade between China and Vietnam. Before checking into our hotel in Lang Son, we visit the Tam Thanh and Nhi Thanh grottos.

Day 07: Lang Son - Ha Long (B,L,D)
Drive from Lang Son to Ha Long Bay via many beautiful countryside of mountain and Tonkin Gulf. Upon arrival in Ha Long, you will board on a charming Junk for 24 hours cruise where you’ll have lunch as you set cruise for Titop Island. Spend the afternoon cruising through the 3,000 limestone pinnacles piercing the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most incredible natural wonders and was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You’ll anchor at Titop this evening before an on-deck candlelight dinner featuring gourmet cuisine.

•     The cabins on board are simple, comfortable, clean, air-conditioned, and outfitted with their own and hot shower.
•     This is a join-in cruise.

Day 08: Ha Long - Hanoi (B,L)
You will begin this morning with a sunrise breakfast before your exploration of Luon Cave (Tunnel cave) by sampan. Then continue to visit another part of Bay (Bai Tu Long Bay). Lunch on board. You will disembark the Junk and return to Hanoi via Dong Trieu ceramic village, Dong Trieu is famous for its ceramic pottery which is sold throughout Viet Nam and increasingly to overseas markets. Arrive Hanoi in the afternoon and drop off at hotel.

Day 09: Hanoi Departure (B)
Free at leisure until transfer to Hanoi airport for your international flight.
